FAQs

How much time should I allow to visit the Capricorn region?

With so much to choose from, the hardest part of your holiday will deciding what to see and do this time, and what youll just have to come back to see again! Ideally you should allow  two weeks to give yourself enough time to get around the region and see the main highlights.

We recommend allowing a week in each of the three main areas of Capricorn Coast, Rockhampton & District and the Central Highlands - and more time if you plan to do some serious bushwalking across the wonderfull national parks.

Transfers and getting around

Regular coach transfers are available from Rockhampton airport to the city and Capricorn Coast, including Rosslyn Bay to meet ferry services to Great Keppel Island. Taxis and car rental agencies are also readily available.

If arriving by regional coach or train services, taxis are available from the Rockhampton railway station and coach terminal.

Travel to the Central Highlands can be arranged by hire car, regular train services and coach transfers. Bookings can be made through the visitor information centres.
